Monroe County, New York[]

Avery arrived in Monroe in late 2027 after roaming alone in upstate New York for years. She was fiercely loyal to Monroe and did all she could to help support its people. Season 1[]

"Years Gone By"[]

Avery adopted Elijah Hunt, and later Jack Summers. She was promoted to Head Scout nearly a month after the death of the former Head Scout, Maria Gomez. Monroe was bombed which resulted in the deaths of numerous citizens, including the Minister, Julian Carmichael-Ortiz. Charles Gideon, the Chief of Security, snapped during the interrogations which led to even more deaths. He was later killed after attempted to harm Avery and her son. Job was elected the new Minister. Avery and her best friend Marian Castle, the new Chief of Security, investigated the bombings. Auren Jacobs and Juniper were arrested and held in jail for questioning.

"Absolution"[]

Eli went missing for nearly a week after heading out on a trip with seven other scouts. Avery, Marian, and Lynch searched for them. Eventually, they came across the slaughtered scouts, but there was no sign of Eli. He later arrived home, and Avery was incredibly grateful. Shaken from his traumatic experiences, Eli attempted suicide. Avery managed to stop him, but he has done little other than sleep ever since. Her and Lynch got significantly closer over the course of a few weeks. Lynch eventually confessed to Avery, but she could not give Lynch a solid response. Her family always came first.

"Adaptation"[]

The trial for the suspected bombers was a complete disaster. Auren escaped from his cell and managed to kill the diplomat from the CPF while Avery and Job helped him escape the horde which had breached the walls of Monroe. Avery shot Auren, killing him on the spot. She felt immense guilt over her actions and confided in Lynch. After a long discussion, the two decided to start a relationship despite Avery's many worries. Jack and Avery had a falling out over the events of the night before. Luke Johanson became infected from a scratch and Avery was tasked with putting him down. He committed suicide before she could.

"A Brave New World"[]

Word got out about the plot between the Heads and Conrad. In actuality, Conrad shot Auren in his cell, and Job and Avery led the diplomat out of town to the hospital in the south where Job shot him dead. Conrad was executed for his crimes against the CPF and Job was let off. Meanwhile, Avery and some others fought off a band of Carl Miller's bandits who had tricked them into rescuing an injured scout. Upon returning to Monroe, Avery learned that Conrad was killed and it was because Lynch had told Chief Ranger Larue Monroe of their true plan. Avery grew enraged. She visited Lynch, who was severely injured, in the clinic, and shouted at her without thinking. Lynch went to leave, but before she could even get out the door she was shot by Marian. Overwhelmed by grief, Marian, Avery, Jack, and Lorelei all fled the town to escape Carl Miller. This was viewed as an attempt to escape their crimes, and a bounty was put out for both Avery and Marian.

Avery has had minor contact with the citizens of Monroe via radio since. It is currently known that Marian turned herself in and Avery has fled the county with Jack. Her current status is unknown.
