Charles Blackwell is a survivor of the outbreak in GWR's What Remains. He is a Ranger of The Coalition of Pittsford and Fairport.

At some point in the apocalypse, Charles and his family joined a community known as Pittsford. He enlisted with the Rangers after the apparent death of his brother, Thomas Blackwell. His family name is well-respected within The Coalition, and his brother was labeled a hero by the cities.

Season 2

"Oppressor"

Charles was among the Ranger team sent into the sewers to recover Larue Monroe. He was seen after Max Rutherford and Francis King were able to stop the firefight. Two months later, Charles and the rest of his unit were assigned to an joint-operation with OSI along with the rest of Unit 2-15. He later partook in the assault on the apartment block where he was able to escape unscathed.

Later, Charles was seen in the firing range changing parts in his assault rifle. He and Nat Brackenridge had a conversation regarding the current events in Pittsford. He claimed his brother was an older Ranger who participated in the Fairport-Pittsford war. After observing Nat miss numerous shots, he offered to adjust the sights to better work with their one eye.

A few days later, Charles was one of many assigned to the raid on The Dollhouse. He and the rest of his unit set out while members of 2-15 followed up on a lead at the nearby warehouses. He was seen in the background watching from afar as Matias Brühl surrendered to Max without incident. He returned to the Ranger Field Office alongside the rest of his unit. Later, Charles was seen again at the firing range when Max and Francis approached Truman Parker about the information given to them on Epsilon Station and their meeting with Marshall Grant. He, along with the rest of his unit agreed to go rogue from The Coalition and investigate the station independently.

• Charles is a returning character who has appeared in two previous lores: West Point (2015) in a minor unseen role as Thomas Blackwell's brother and again in The Road Ahead (2017) as a helicopter pilot for Pathfinder.
• His loyalty quest's name is a reference to his past appearance in The Road Ahead (2017).
  • The name "The Pathfinder" is the same name as the unit Charles Blackwell was a pilot for: Pathfinder.
• Charles is said to handle weapons maintenance for Truman's unit.
  • This is supported by his offer to service Nat's revolver.
• It is possible that Blackwell is his brother.
