"... I just—I want to go back to normal ... I want to live my life with you, I don't know how else to say it. I'd give up everything, I ... I gave up everything."
Corey Jackson to Max Rutherford right before her suicide.[src]

Corey Jackson was a survivor of the outbreak in GWR'S What Remains. She was a former deputy of The Coalition of Pittsford and Fairport and a citizen of Pittsford.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Location Unknown[]

Little is known about Corey's life before the outbreak.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Monroe County, New York[]

At some point, Corey, a drifter, found herself in Monroe County, New York. She helped out the citizens of Monroe for a while time, but never became a citizen herself.

Shortly after arriving in Monroe, Corey met Ranger Max Rutherford whom she quickly grew close with and eventually began a romantic relationship with. She later joined The Coalition as a deputy and applied to be a Ranger, wanting to be of more help to her partner on missions, but was denied due to her intense lust for vengeance against The Miller Family.

Pittsford, New York[]

With tensions rising, Corey decided it was unsafe to remain in Monroe County and moved to Pittsford with her friend, Terry Winters. There, she worked in construction, utilizing her skills gained while helping out the town of Monroe. The distance put a great deal of strain on her relationship with Max. Max was able to visit every Tuesday after her therapy sessions, but it wasn't the same. After a few months of this routine, Max proposed to Corey and the two became engaged.

At the time of the Bombing of Pittsford in August 2029, orchestrated by the Inner-Cities Liberation Front, Corey was working on an extension to the Ranger Field Office. She was trapped beneath the rubble for three days until she was eventually found. The lack of blood flow to her legs during that time led to them being amputated and Corey was placed in a medically-induced coma for several months. After Max's unit was re-assigned to Pittsford to deal with the riots in the Liberty District, Max began acting as Corey's full-time caretaker.

The stress of working riot duty and caring for her partner proved incredibly draining for Max, and over time the two began to drift apart. Max would avoid Corey, even going as far as to ask her colleagues to care for her instead. After a misunderstanding between Corey and one of Rhea Varnado's associates, Corey concluded that Max's constant absence meant she must be cheating on her with Rhea. This misunderstanding led to their eventual breakup. Wracked with guilt, Corey did the unthinkable—she reached out to The Man In Red and took his hand, with the promise of being able to stay with Max forever. Of course, it was all lies. Corey's condition began to rapidly deteriorate from then on.

On New Years Eve 2029, Max approached Corey. The two spoke for a short while, expressing that they still loved each other and wanted to be together again. Max was convinced everything would go back to normal—that is, until Corey pulled a gun. Not wanting to give in to The Man In Red's will and hurt Max, Corey turned the gun on herself. Right as the clock struck midnight, Corey committed suicide.
