Crunchy (real name Lautaro de los Reyes) is a survivor of the outbreak in GWR's What We Become Universe and a main character in Redeemer.
An Argentinian immigrant and a former retail worker, he's one of many refugees that found their way into Pittsford, where he currently serves as a ranger for the Coalition.

Personality[]
Crunchy is a calm, quiet man that seems largely unfazed by the sights of the Post-Apocalypse. Though largely unresponsive and mild-mannered on the outside, he seems to bear a particularly eccentric inner world, with many of his remarks and opinions appearing non-sensical or detached from reality.
He also appears to be highly anxious and observant, with an habit of keeping track acutely of what other individuals are doing in his vicinity, to the point where he can be seen exhibiting an almost obsessive fixation on those that catch his attention.
Despite his nonchalant attitude regarding the dangers of his daily life and his unnerving stalker-like qualities, Crunchy has shown to be a caring (if awkward) man, prioritizing the wellbeing of those around him, usually being the first to take care of injured colleagues and exerting himself to the point of exhaustion just to save someone.

Crunchy was born the youngest sibling in a lower-middle-class family in the city of Mar de Plata, in the province of Buenos Aires.
Though initially leading a relatively normal life, the death of his mother Graciela and the subsequent abuse he suffered at the hands of his father and siblings turned Crunchy into a quiet, anxious child. He began working as soon as he was able to, becoming one of the main providers for the dysfunctional family at an early age.
He led a mostly unremarkable life, living life paycheck-to-paycheck while balancing the precarious economic state of his household with the physical and emotional stress from an unsupportive father, a situation which continued uninterrupted until the global outbreak of the Red Eye Pandemic.
Post-Apocalypse[]
Escape from Argentina[]
Shortly after the massive infrastructure breakdown and political collapse, Crunchy was one of many survivors who bore witness to the fall of the Argentine Republic, which he subsequently fled alongside a convoy of refugees navigating the Atlantic Coast of South America.
Initially following rumors of a potential safe haven in Northern Canada, the convoy reached the southern corner of Florida, where it was quickly overwhelmed by infected. With Crunchy the sole survivor from the slaughter, he managed to journey into Upstate New York and join the Coalition as a refugee.

Crunchy was one of the Coalition members that joined the expedition caravan into the Texas Panhandle, with apparent little motive other than ''sightseeing'' while fullfilling his role as a Coalition Ranger.
